EDO COAT is an original brand of Styletex consisting of former Nohara Kougyo Co., Ltd which was founded in the Meiji era in 1893 and has a history of nearly 130 years. It is a notable factory brand that gained popularity from EC sites and pop-up shops and reached the opening of the 1st flagship store. Originally, it was involved in the manufacture of fashion brands that are popular around the world, and its own brand began as a development. We expressed the brand’s world view and long history, as well as their challenge of “tradition and innovation” in the design.
EDO COAT offers a few outerwear services that can be custom ordered. Because of its rare value service, the main customer base is the age group after 30s who knows the essence. This store also shows an important role as a place to present its functions. Furthermore, in response to recent measures against COVID-19, we have introduced unmanned store as a new management method.
By integrating those conditions, the entire space is summarized in a calm color tone, lattice doors meaning tradition and black-and-white photographs applied to various places create a production where you can feel the history of EDO COAT. Moreover, contrary to those details, by installing a curved circle light which is a modern element, the interior design embodies the tradition and innovation that EDO COAT conveys.
As it is a brand that has already attracted a lot of attention, I sincerely hope that it will become a brand representing Japan that will run through the 5 eras, Meiji, Taisho, Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa, and expand it to the world.
